The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified Electrician, within an established business of 25 years, predominantly within the industrial and commercial sector. Originally established in Newcastle, we have recently opened a branch in Canberra where our core focus is business-critical power generation. The role is a hybrid managerial and hands-on position where you will be appointed a team to deliver unique and unmatched customer service within a dynamic and technical space.

Your Responsibilities

This position would suit self-motivated person, who demonstrates a strong work ethic and is also capable of carrying out mechanical/electrical service work. At times, there will be a requirement to work away or on call, including shift work, weekends and working outside of normal hours. You will be remunerated accordingly for this extra work under our Enterprise Agreement. Your duties would include

  • Installation, Commissioning & Servicing of Generators
  • Comprehensive Preventative Maintenance
  • Astute and wide-ranging fault identification and remediation
  • Supervise, lead, train and maintain a high standard of workmanship whilst safeguarding our excellent safety culture
  • Be the “right hand man” to our Branch Manager

What you will need:

  • Minimum of 3 years post electrical apprenticeship experience.

  • EWP Licence (desirable).
  • White Card

The Role

Kenshaw Electrical requires a Diesel Mechanic to assist in delivering our service & installation operations. Predominantly based in Hume (ACT) and surrounding areas, it can include work across NSW. The main function of this role is to perform service, installation, fault finding & repair work across our diverse client base that includes data centres, hospitals, grain, rail, mining & manufacturing. This role would suit a Mechanic who can carry out service work on back-up generators to the health, industrial and commercial sectors. There will be a requirement to sometimes work away, at weekends and on-call. 

Kenshaw are an Authorised Cummins Dealer and Service agent, specialising in the sale and service of high-horsepower generators. Our current variety of servicing caters for machines from 33BHP to 4,300BHP.

The applicant should have the following

Essential:
  • Minimum of 5 years Mechanic Trade experience.
  • Valid driving licence (manual vehicle)
  • White Card
  • Possess advanced diagnostic skills and hands on experience with the repair, service, fault finding and maintenance of large diesels.
Desirable:
  • Generator experience (diesel)
  • Electrical disconnect/ reconnect Licence
  • Valid Forklift Licence
  • Working at Heights and Confined Space Certificates.
  • Welding experience
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to compliance, including health and safety measures of both the Company and customers, including undertaking additional training when required.
  • Have an outstanding commitment to safety
  • Capable of working autonomously and/or in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good presentation and effective organisational skills.
Required Skills

This role would suit a self-motivated Mechanic and possess power generation experience, capable of working with minimal supervision, looking to develop their skills to the next level. A high level of customer service skills is required for this exciting opportunity. A strong commitment to safety and dedication to following Work, Health and Safety requirements is essential.

We are looking for experienced and professional Trades Assistant with knowledge and experience within the Electrical / Mechanical environment or construction industry. This is a  Full-time position.

You’ll join an enthusiastic and supportive team, who pride themselves on working collaboratively. It is a hands on and physical role where you will be working with our workshop teams and assisting all trades people with their work. This will include doing deliveries and assisting the stores when required.

Your duties will include

  • Provide assistance to tradesmen and follow site instructions
  • Operate a range of hand and power tools
  • Labouring and housekeeping duties as required
  • Deliver and collect materials from supplier where required
  • Painting experience
  • Stores experience (desired)
  • Completion and submission of paperwork as required
  • Maintain a high level of workspace presentation and housekeeping

There will be a requirement to work away from home on our service runs, for generally less than 1 week at a time.
